The New Zealand Government has passed a law which means those downloading content illegally can be fined up to $15,000. Cannot be bothered blogging about it- obviously in my last job I heard about it all the time, but now that it's in the news and I'm hearing the opinions of stupid people all day long in my current job, I am really sick of the whole thing.
It's not going to stop me watching my top three TV shows (TV is the only thing I download anyway, these days). We would be waiting a year or two to get new episodes here in NZ otherwise, and if there's one thing I hate, it's shows being spoiled!
I am loving my job, but starting to hate my country because of it. If that makes sense.

I get everything from file sharing programs and torrents.. Music, movies, shows, programs.
I mean, I understand we should be paying for someone else's work but everybody knows that most of these people are waaaay overpaid anyways, right?
Totally- a LOT of people are kicking up a big fuss online, but unfortunately it's only really been picked up by mainstream media now that it's too late. A lot think it's going to be unenforceable and I tend to agree, but it's still a baaad move. If anyone's interested, I recommend this hilariously ignorant speech by National MP Melissa Lee on YouTube here. Also this edited version of National MP Katrina Shanks' speech. She so savvy.

Wow! Can you order the seasons from Amazon or something? Will they play on the DVD players down there with no problem?
As a side note I LOVE Dexter! What a great show...last few seasons have been insane.
Yes, could definitely order DVDs from overseas- they are a different regional code but that can be overridden. But obviously, that means the delay from the episode showing on US TV to when it's actually released on disc- currently we download episodes about an hour after they first screen in the USA, so it's very easy to avoid reading spoilers from overseas people on Twitter and Facebook. Not so if we're waiting months!

I don't recognize any of your favorite shows from the screenshots so clearly we don't watch the same shows. I LOVE Fringe. I also watch One Tree Hill (it's getting a bit lame these days), Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Off the Map. I'm also sad that LOST and Prison Break are no more. More and more shows are actually posting full, official episodes online, but I'm going to assume that these aren't accessible for you in NZ. I'm in Canada and I still have problems watching some US shows this way. I download via torrent. :) I will not download movies or music, but for some reason, I don't see anything wrong with doing this for TV shows. Ok, this turned out to be a really long comment. Oopsies!
Hey so I stumbled on your blog and I can't believe they're being so harsh while not allowing you to access these show. Those are shows not to miss, don't worry bout it. Love Dexter and Breaking Bad. Great choices.
Most of the seasons I have watched on the web, I end up getting on DVD anyway. I don't get Sky which is the main channels for these shows that I watch within the UK. There's House, Castle and Grey's which are the main 3. I have all but the most recent season of House - I don't have Castle yet but it's on my wishlist and Grey's I think I'm two behind.
Its major download time from now till Sept!
I think we have the same taste in shows, my fav shows at the moment are Dexter, Breaking Bad and yeah still Glee. Haven't seen Damages yet.
