What can I say, I'm a rambler! Have cut it down as best I could, but if anything doesn't make sense or you have questions - let me know! The blog post I refer to can be found here.

I bruised my coccyx after falling over while ice skating - I had to bundle up my jumper and sit on it to be able to get home - it was horrible and I just bruised it.
A friend of mine at church has AS as well.
Eek I don't think I could do that to myself either! Thank goodness for Charlie!
Very interesting video!!! I don't know if I could give myself injections either, well worth it for you though!! I love that at the end it gives you others to watch and one is a "Humira pen injection tutorial" LOL
I highly suggest squeezing a bit part of your thigh whilst doing it. Quite firmly. It will help.
err, I mean big.
Yikes, I think my hips/spine starting hurting just listening to you talk about it :( So sorry you have to deal with that but glad the Humira generally works so well.
Didn't know you had that thigh tattoo, it's very cute! And I'd be the same way about needles I think.
Wow Alice, you go through so much. I work at the hospital and I can't handle it when I see people with their drips in, I have to look away! You are so brave!
@Caitlin Haha thanks, he looks almost cross eyed in the video! I swear it looks much nicer in person...
@Phoebe Thanks - I have actually tried squeezing the site a couple of times, once when I tried my stomach and once for my thigh but it didn't really make a difference to the sting so I felt caused more discomfort than was worth... will probably try that way when I do it myself eventually though. I just prefer, when someone else is doing it, to lie back, take a deep breath and try not think about it haha :-)
First of all, HEY! You figured out how to reply to the comments & keep the pop-up comment thing! AWESOME. Haha!
It's such a bummer that you had to go through years of not knowing why you were in such pain. I'm so glad that you have found something that helps you. I think I would totally be like you and be scared to actually do it. Just having the control & knowing EXACTLY when you're going to feel that pain is scary... I can see why it's much easier to get someone else to do it.
That really sucks that you do get such pain once you get the injection. Maybe one day they will find something better so that it won't hurt as much. But, at the same time, it's awesome that there is something already that can help stop all of the pain.
Still, really shitty that you even have that. I'm really sorry.
Needles don't bother me, but I always get a reaction afterwards. I get all light headed & faint sometimes (most of the time). Luckily when I get bloodwork done (which happens often!), I'm okay. When my Nana first went in the hospital they had SUCH a hard time finding a vein, just like with you. She said there was blood everywhere, haha. My sister has that problem, too. My veins stick right out though, ha!
@Renee Haha thank you, it is most definitely learned bravery! :-)
@Holly Knitlightly Haha YAY, yes I did! Although it was an html code and they all seem to show up at the bottom rather than what I'm replying to... oh well!
Yeah my mum has majorly easy veins too! I'm sure when we used to go to the blood lab together the nurses would go "bags not" over who had to do me :-D
